Financial help for farming families

Farming Matters Working Families Tax Credit is due to change in April 2003
Families, in work, who have at least one dependent child will be able to claim Child Tax credit and Working Tax Credit.
Working couples without children will be able to claim Working Tax Credit.
Both will be means tested.
Getting hold of the forms seems to be difficult. They will not, it seems, be available as in the past from local Post Offices. As the issue becomes clearer we will keep you updated.

collect a leaflet from your local post office; (ours has not received any yet!! 13/3/03)
visit the Inland Revenue website;
or contact one of the Farming Helplines for advice
Remember this is not charity - if you have paid tax you are entitled to it just like Child Benefit etc.
