Public Inquiries: Final Reports
Cumbria: 10/5/02 - Cumbria has just held its own Public Inquiry into the Foot and Mouth outbreak. For the on-line reports see the Cumbria Council website. The final report was published on 6th September 2002. You will need Acrobat Reader for this at present (6/9/02)Ash Moor burial pit.

The pressure for a public inquiry into the FMD outbreak continues. The date has been set for the judicial review campaigned for by the Western Morning News, Western Mail and and Farmers Weekly. The date set is from the 19th - 22nd February 2002. Pressure to re-open livestock markets also continues.NB The judicial review failed and there now seems to be no hope of a full public inquiry being held.
