(See full article at Foot and Mouth Disease )

This must be the eleventh hour for British farming, following on from all the other problems of recent years. While we are not all in a position to offer practical help we can at least pray for those whose livelihoods are affected by this whole crisis. Can we suggest that you spare some time to pray for them at 11a.m. each day, where ever you are and what ever you are doing. Prayer at the eleventh hour should then be followed by whatever practical action can be offered, now and in the future.

In addition to this churches are being asked to toll a bell for 5 minutes at midday each Sunday to encourage people to pray then too.

The national churches have reponded by setting up an emergency fund to help those in farming, and its dependent industries, who do not qualify for other help. For details see Emergency Fund

  • Please pray at 11a.m. each day and midday on Sundays and encourage others to do the same.
