12/10/01. Devon County Council's public enquiry into the Foot and Mouth Disease outbreak in the county. The enquiry was broadcast live on the web with both sound and pictures.Starting on Monday 8th October at 10.30 a.m. and lasting for the five days of the enquiry the reports can be accessed through the council's website at www.Devon.gov.uk/fminquiry/finalreport/.

'The Western Morning News' carries regular articles on the effects of the disease on the whole community and continues to campaign for a Public Inquiry. Its petition will be handed in to the government. If no enquiry is forthcoming a number of organisations will ask for a judicial review.
