Farming Matters!

Fair Trade for Britain's farmers

tractor

Did you know?

Supermarket labels can mislead:-

Imported sides of bacon, produced in conditions illegal in this country,
but cut and packed here, can be sold as British.

Yoghurt made in Britain from re-constituted powdered milk,
imported from anywhere in the world, can be sold as British.

Many well known British brand names are in fact international companies,
and their name is not a guarantee that their products are made from British produce.

Despite the alleged efficiency of large multiple retailers, an ever decreasing
proportion of the money you spend on food reaches the farmers who produced it.

If you think this is unfair ring one or more of the following numbers:-

Switchboards:

Asda 0113 2435435

Gateway 0117 9359359

Safeway 0208 8488744

Waitrose 01344 424680

Freephone:

Tesco 0800 505555

Sainsbury's 0800 636262

British Farm produce is the best for animal welfare standards and for traceability in the World. Processors and Supermarkets insist on it because (they say) of customer demand. So you demand that they supply you with the best, and at a fair price to you and the farmer!.

The Customer is always right!
