The bright spots are:-
- The swift response by the Governent looks as though it might have contained the outbreak of Foot and Mouth. The suspect case near Dorking has proved to be negative.Allowing animals to move direct to abattoir is good for those with finished animals, provided that the prices are not depressed. Hopefully other restrictions will be able to be eased in the near future.

- There continues to be strong interest in local food. A growing awareness of the impact of food miles is good news for local producers.
